Johannes Orb

Johannes Orb (born January 17, 1854 in Bettenbach , † November 11, 1911 in Offenbach am Main ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Johannes Orb was the son of the farmer Johannes Orb and his wife Elisabetha, née Georg. Orb, who was a Protestant, married Katharina nee Stein.

From 1872 to 1888 he was a factory worker in Offenbach. From 1888 to 1900 he worked as a warehouse manager of the "New Ceres" (consumer association) in Offenbach. From 1900 to 1907 he was an office assistant for the local treasury.

From 1896–1907 he was a member and from 1907 until his death a full-time secretary in the SPD state executive committee in Hesse, based in Offenbach. From 1899 to 1907 he was a city councilor in Offenbach.

From 1902 to 1911 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 16 / Offenbach-Seligenstadt .
