Andreas Rau

Andreas Rau (born February 27, 1858 in Hanau ; † March 3, 1935 in Mühlheim am Main ) was a German innkeeper, politician ( SPD ) and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Andreas Rau was the son of the factory worker Johannes Rau and his wife Katharina, née Roth. Rau, who was a Catholic, married Anna née Reis in her first marriage and Christina née Kaiser in her second marriage.

Rau worked as a factory worker and farmer. At the latest since 1896 he was an innkeeper in Mühlheim a. M.

From 1896 to 1902 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Starkenburg 16 / Offenbach-Land . From 1899 to 1907 he was a member of the municipal council in Mühlheim a. M. From 1921 to 1934 he was a board member of the bank association.
