Julius Usinger

Julius Wilhelm Philipp Usinger (born February 20, 1828 in Lampertheim ; † February 19, 1902 Darmstadt ) was a Hessian civil servant and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Julius Usinger was the son of the teacher in Lampertheim and Wimpfen Ludwig Friedrich Usinger and his wife Karoline Christine Catharina née Franz. Usinger was of the Protestant denomination, married on August 12, 1857 in Bensheim Luise Jeanette née Müller (born October 16, 1831 in Bensheim ; † August 12, 1857, Catholic), the daughter of the tannery owner and wine merchant in Bensheim, Johannes Müller and Jeanette Philippine née Guntrum. Their daughter Elisabeth (1858–1910) married the cigar manufacturer and member of parliament Louis Auler (1853–1922).

Julius Usinger studied law. During his studies he became a member of the Allemannia Gießen fraternity in the winter semester of 1845/46 . He completed his studies in 1849 with a doctorate to become Dr. jur. and was then an accessist. From 1859 he was a district assessor in the Zwingenberg, Bensheim, Groß-Gerau and Offenbach districts. In 1872 he became a district councilor in the Bensheim district . In 1888 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior of the government of the Grand Duchy of Hesse as Ministerialrat , where he was appointed Privy Councilor in 1896 . In 1898 he was retired.

From 1872 to 1878 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Starkenburg 16 / Offenbach-Land .

Lampertheim made him an honorary citizen in 1882 and Bensheim in 1888 . He is buried in Bensheim.
