Pinet is a municipality in the south of France with 1,745 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . The municipality is part of the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Pézenas (until 2015: canton of Florensac ). The inhabitants are called the Pinetois .

geography

Pinet is located near the Mediterranean lagoon Étang de Thau about 24 kilometers east-northeast of Béziers . Pinet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Castelnau-de-Guers in the north and northwest, Pomérols in the south and east and Florensac in the west.

The A9 car route runs through the municipality .
