Cers ( Occitan : Cèrç ) is a southern French municipality in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It has 2,566 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Béziers-3 .
geography
Cerium is a banlieue in the southeast of Beziers and is located on the ship channel Canal du Midi . The municipality is part of the Coteaux du Languedoc wine region ; this is where the Cabardès is produced. Cers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Béziers in the north and north-west, Montblanc in the north-east, Portiragnes in the east and south-east and Villeneuve-lès-Béziers in the south and west.
