Labastide-Rouairoux ( Occitan : La Bastida de Roairós ) is a French commune with 1,410 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Mazamet-2 Vallée du Thoré (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amans-Soult ). The inhabitants are called bastidians .
location
Labastide-Rouairoux is located about 28 kilometers east-southeast of Castres at the foot of the Montagne Noire (Eng. "Black Mountains") and is part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . The Thoré flows through the municipality. Labastide-Rouairoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Anglès in the north and west, Courniou in the east, Verreries-de-Moussans in the south-east, Ferrals-les-Montagnes in the south and Lacabarède in the west and south-west.
The former route nationale 112 (today's D612) runs through the municipality .

In 1166 the bastide was founded by Raymond V , Count of Toulouse.
