location

Payrin-Augmontel is located on the northern foothills of the Montagne Noire (Eng. "Black Mountains") on the Thoré River . The municipality is located about twelve kilometers southeast of Castres . Payrin-Augmontel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Noailhac in the north, Pont-de-Larn in the east, Aussillon in the south, Aiguefonde in the south-west, Caucalières in the west and Valdurenque in the north-west.
