Cuq ( Occitan : Cuc ) is a French commune with 495 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Plaine de l'Agoût (until 2015: Canton of Vielmur-sur-Agout ).

geography

Cuq is located about 50 kilometers east of Toulouse and about twelve kilometers west-northwest of Castres . The municipal area is crossed by the Bagas river. Cuq is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Puycalvel in the north, Lautrec in the north and northeast, Jonquières in the east, Vielmur-sur-Agout in the south, Guitalens-L'Albarède in the southwest and Serviès in the west.
