Cambounès ( Occitan : Cambonés ) is a southern French municipality with 331 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). Cambounès belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Les Hautes Terres d'Oc (until 2015: canton of Brassac ). The inhabitants are called Cambounésois .

location

Cambounès is located in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park , on the Durenque River , about 16 kilometers east-southeast from Castres . Cambounès is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Le Bez in the north and east, Lasfaillades in the south-east, Le Rialet in the south and south-east, Boissezon in the south and west and Saint-Salvy-de-la-Balme in the north-west.
