Saint-Amans-Soult ( Occitan : Sant Amanç de Solt ; until 1851: Saint-Amans-La-Bastide ) is a French commune with 1,577 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Mazamet-2 Vallée du Thoré (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amans-Soult ).

Saint-Amans-Soult is located about 25 kilometers south-east of Castres at the foot of the Montagne Noire (Eng. "Black Mountains") and is part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . The Thoré delimits the municipality in the north. Saint-Amans-Soult is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Amans-Valtoret in the north, Albine in the east, Castans in the south, Mazamet in the west and Bout-du-Pont-de-Larn in the north-west.
The former route nationale 112 (today's D612) runs along the northern edge of the municipality .
