Noailhac ( Occitan : Nòstra Dama de Noalhac ) is a French commune with 1,823 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and is part of the canton of Mazamet-1 (until 2015: canton of Labruguière ). The inhabitants are called Noailhacois .

geography

Noailhac is located about nine kilometers east-southeast of the city center of Castres on the Durenque River . Noailhac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Salvy-de-la-Balme in the north and northeast, Boissezon in the east, Pont-de-Larn in the southeast, Payrin-Augmontel in the south, Valdurenque in the west and Castres in the northwest.

The municipality was detached from part of the Boissezon municipality in 1928 .
