Rouairoux ( Occitan : Roairós ) is a French commune with 367 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Mazamet-2 Vallée du Thoré (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amans-Soult ).

location

Rouairoux is located about 24 kilometers east-southeast of Castres in the Montagne Noire (Eng. "Black Mountains") and is part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . The Thoré borders the community in the south. Rouairoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Anglès in the north and east, Lacabarède in the southeast, Sauveterre in the south and Saint-Amans-Valtoret in the west.
