The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Les Hautes Terres d'Oc (until 2015: canton of Vabre ).

Le Masnau-Massuguiès is located in the cultural landscape of the Albigeois about 31 kilometers northeast of Castres and about 36 kilometers southeast of Albi . Le Masnau-Massuguiès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Massals in the north, Montfranc and Pousthomy in the north-east, Saint-Salvi-de-Carcavès in the east, Viane in the south and south-east, Lacaze in the south and south-west, Rayssac in the west and south-west and Paulinet in the west and northwest.
