Jonquières ( Occitan : Jonquièiras ) is a French commune with 447 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Plaine de l'Agoût (until 2015: Canton of Vielmur-sur-Agout ). The inhabitants are called Jonquièrois (es) .

Jonquières is located about 55 kilometers east of Toulouse and about nine kilometers northwest of Castres . Jonquières is surrounded by the neighboring communities Lautrec in the north, Montpinier in the northeast, Castres in the east, Carbes in the south and southeast, Vielmur-sur-Agout in the south and southwest and Cuq in the west.
