Cabanès is a French commune with 289 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Plaine de l'Agoût (until 2015 Saint-Paul-Cap-de-Joux ).

Cabanès is located about 33 kilometers east of Toulouse and about 24 kilometers west-northwest of Castres . Cabanès is surrounded by the neighboring communities Briatexte in the north and northwest, Graulhet in the northeast, Missècle in the east, Damiatte in the southeast and Fiac in the south and west.
