Viviers-lès-Montagnes ( Occitan Vivièrs de las Montanhas ) is a French commune with 6,535 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and is part of the canton of Le Pastel (until 2015: canton of Labruguière ). The inhabitants are called Viviérois .
geography
Viviers-lès-Montagnes is located about seven kilometers southwest of Castres in the Montagne Noire on the Bernazobre River . Viviers-lès-Montagnes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saïx in the north, Navès in the east and north-east, Saint-Affrique-les-Montagnes in the east and south-east, Verdalle in the south, Soual in the west and Cambounet-sur-le-Sor in the north-west.
