Saint-Avit is a French commune with 265 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the canton of La Montagne noire ( Dourgne until 2015 ) and the Arrondissement of Castres .
It is bordered by Lescout to the north, Verdalle to the east, Dourgne to the southeast, Lagardiolle to the south and Lempaut to the west .
