Albine ( Occitan : Albina ) is a French commune with 509 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Mazamet-2 Vallée du Thoré (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amans-Soult ). The inhabitants are called Albinòls .

location

Albine is located about 29 kilometers southeast of Castres at the foot of the Montagne Noire (Eng. "Black Mountains") and is part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . The Thoré river limits the municipality to the north. Albine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Amans-Valtoret in the north and north-west, Rouairoux in the north, Sauveterre in the east, Lespinassière in the south, Castans in the south-west and Saint-Amans-Soult in the west.
