Giroussens ( Occitan : Girocens ) is a southern French municipality with 1,484 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Les Portes du Tarn (until 2015: canton of Lavaur ). The inhabitants are called Giroussinais .
location
Giroussens lies on the orographic right, i.e. H. eastern, river side of the Agout , which also forms the western boundary of the municipality. Giroussens is surrounded by the neighboring communities Confouleux in the north and northwest, Parisot in the east and northeast, Saint-Gauzens the east and southeast, Ambres in the south and southeast, Saint-Jean-de-Rives in the south and Saint-Lieux-lès-Lavaur in West and southwest.
