Boissezon is a French commune with 397 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Mazamet-1 (until 2015 Mazamet-Nord-Est ). The inhabitants are called Boissezonnais or Boissezonols .

location

Boissezon is located on the northern foothills of the Montagne Noire (Eng. "Black Mountains"). The community is located about eleven kilometers east-southeast of Castres . Boissezon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Salvy-de-la-Balme in the north, Cambounès in the east and northeast, Le Rialet in the southeast, Pont-de-Larn in the south and Noailhac in the west.

The place lies in a narrow bend in the river Durenque , into which the tributary Durencuse also flows. Via Tolosana , a variant of the Way of St. James , also runs through the village .
