Fontrieu is a French commune with 947 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region (until 2015: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Les Hautes Terres d'Oc . It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2016 by merging the previous municipalities of Castelnau-de-Brassac , Ferrières and Le Margnès .
