Carbes is a French commune with 225 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Plaine de l'Agoût (until 2015: Canton of Vielmur-sur-Agout ). The inhabitants are called Carbais (es) .

geography

Carbes is about 53 kilometers east of Toulouse and about eight kilometers northwest of Castres . Carbes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jonquières in the north and northwest, Castres in the east and southeast, Fréjeville in the south and Vielmur-sur-Agout in the west.
