Soual ( Occitan : Soal ) is a French commune with 2,549 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Le Pastel (until 2015: canton of Dourgne ).

Soual is located about 54 kilometers east of Toulouse on the Sor . Soual is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cambounet-sur-le-Sol in the north, Vivers-lès-Montagnes in the east, Verdalle in the southeast, Lescout in the south and Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the west.

Route nationale 126 and the former route nationale 622 run through the municipality .
