Aiguefonde is a French commune with 2517 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Mazamet-1 (previously Mazamet-Sud-Ouest ).

Aiguefonde is located on the northern foothills of the Montagne Noire (Eng. "Black Mountains"), about 4.5 kilometers west of Mazamet and about 13.5 kilometers southeast of Castres . The Thoré delimits the municipality in the north.
