Heinrich Hartung III. (Born June 29, 1851 in Koblenz ; † February 12, 1919 ibid) was a Rhenish landscape painter from the Koblenz Hartung dynasty.

Life

Hartung inherited his painterly talent from his father Heinrich Hartung II . He passed it on to his children, the painter Heinrich Hartung IV and the painter Aenni Hartung . Following instructions from his father, he continued his education in Italy in 1875 and 1876 , especially in Rome , where he was a member of the German Art Association in 1876 , and in Naples . Returning from Italy, he took a picturesque look around Munich and Berlin . Then he settled in Düsseldorf for more than two decades , where he belonged to the artists' association Malkasten . During this period, those for Hartung III. characteristic spring pictures, landscapes of the Lower Rhine and the pictures of the Eifelmaaren were created. Hartung III. took part in international exhibitions in Berlin, Melbourne and London from 1889 to 1891 . His work has received several international awards. In 1900 Hartung returned to Koblenz. This is where his numerous Middle Rhine and Moselle landscapes were created, in which the theme of sun and spring repeatedly comes to the fore. Artistic work by Heinrich Hartung III. are accessible in the Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf , the Middle Rhine Museum Koblenz and the Museum of Wiesbaden .
