The landscape protection area Offenland around Ramsbeck and Andreasberg with 100.01  hectares is located around Ramsbeck and Andreasberg in the municipality of Bestwig in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) in 2008 with the Bestwig landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LSG is one of 17 landscape protection areas in the municipality of Bestwig. In the municipality there is one type A landscape protection area , ten type B landscape protection areas and six type C landscape protection areas . The Offenland landscape protection area around Ramsbeck and Andreasberg was designated as type B LSG, outskirts, landscape character , in the municipality of Bestwig. The LSG consists of five sub-areas. Two of the sub-areas are southwest and southeast of Ramsbeck. Another smaller area southwest of Andreasberg. To the north-east of Ramsbeck and north of Andreasberg are two large areas. The LSG borders directly on the outskirts of Ramsbeck and Andreasberg.

Protection purpose

The designation was carried out to ensure the diversity and uniqueness of the landscape in the vicinity of the localities and the old agricultural priority areas by keeping it open.

Legal regulations

How is the LSG into the other protected areas of type B in Bestwig prohibition of afforestation and tree - Schmuckreisig- and nursery crops to apply. As in all type B landscape planning areas, there is a requirement to keep the LSG free from forest cover through agricultural use or through maintenance measures.
