The valley of the Cesse at Minerve

The Cesse is a river in France that runs in the Occitania region . Its source is in the Montagne Noire , in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . It rises in the municipality of Cassagnoles , drains generally in a south-easterly direction through the Minervois landscape , crosses under the Canal du Midi , then accompanies the Canal de Jonction and finally flows into the Aude after 54 kilometers below Sallèles-d'Aude as a left tributary . On its way, the Cesse touches the Hérault and Aude departments .
