Monasteries

In addition to the independent monasteries, there were also numerous branches of various religious communities in Eichsfeld. Especially at the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century, smaller and larger branches were founded. These were mainly active in outpatient and inpatient nursing and care for the elderly as well as looking after children, young people and the disabled.
