Jean-Pierre Boccardo
Jean-Pierre Boccardo (born March 16, 1942 in Espéraza ; † January 29, 2019 ) was a French sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .
In 1962 he was sixth in the 4-by-400-meter relay at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade , and in 1963 he won gold in the 4-by-400-meter relay and bronze in the individual competition at the Mediterranean Games .
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he was eighth in the 4-by-400-meter relay and reached the semifinals over 400 m . In the quarterfinals he set his personal best with 46.34 s.
In 1966 he was fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in Budapest and was eliminated over 400 m in the semi-finals.
At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he came in the 4-by-400-meter relay again in eighth place.
In 1963, 1964 and 1966 he was French champion.
