The men's 4 x 400 meter relay at the 1962 European Athletics Championships was held on September 15 and 16, 1962 in Belgrade's Partizan Stadium .

Germany became European champions with the line-up of Johannes Schmitt , Wilfried Kindermann , Hans-Joachim Reske and Manfred Kinder . Second place went to Great Britain with Barry Jackson , Ken Wilcock , Adrian Metcalfe and Robbie Brightwell . Bronze went to Switzerland ( Bruno Galliker , Jean-Louis Descloux, Marius Theiler, Hansruedi's brother).
