Wassyl Anissimow

Wassyl Iwanowytsch Anissimow ( Ukrainian Василь Іванович Анісімов , English transcription Vasyl Anisimov; born January 23, 1938 in Kharkiv ) is a former Ukrainian hurdler and sprinter who competed for the Soviet Union .

In 1962 he was sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade in the 400 m hurdles and was eliminated in the 4 x 400 meter relay in the preliminary run.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he was seventh over the 400 m hurdles and in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 1966 he won bronze over 400 m at the European Indoor Games in Dortmund . At the European Championships in Budapest he was fourth in the 400 m hurdles and failed in the run-up to the 4 x 400 meter relay .

At the European Indoor Games he won in 1967 in Prague in the 4-by-300-meter relay and won silver in the 1500-meter relay. In 1968 in Madrid he won bronze in the 4 x 364 meter relay.

He was five times Soviet champion over 400 m hurdles (1961-1965) and twice over 200 m hurdles (1964, 1966).
