The men's 1500-meter race at the 1962 European Athletics Championships was held on September 14 and 16, 1962 in Belgrade's Partizan Stadium .

The French Olympic runner-up in 1960, Michel Jazy , became European champion . Witold Baran from Poland came in second. Third place went to the Czechoslovak Tomáš Salinger.
