Rudolf Klaban

Rudolf Klaban (born April 5, 1938 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian middle and long distance runner .

Career

In 1958 he failed at the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm over 800 m and 1500 m in the run.

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he reached the quarter-finals over 800 m and was eliminated over 1500 m in the preliminary run.

In 1961 he won silver over 800 m and bronze over 1500 m at the Universiade . The following year he did not get beyond the preliminary round at the European Championships in Belgrade over 1500 m .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he reached the semi-finals over 800 m , and in 1965 he won bronze over 800 m at the Universiade.

At the EM in 1966 in Budapest he was eliminated over 800 m and at the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 over 1500 m in the preliminary run.

Seven times he was Austrian champion over 800 m (1959-1964, 1966), ten times over 1500 m (1957, 1960-1968), three times over 5000 m and once in the cross-country run on the short distance (1967).
