The men's 1500 meter run at the 1958 European Athletics Championships was held on August 22 and 24, 1958 in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium.

British Brian Hewson became European champion . Second place went to the Swede Dan Waern . 1956 Irish Olympic Champion Ron Delany won bronze.

Record improvement

On August 22nd, Olavi Vuorisalo improved the EM record in the first run by three seconds to 3: 40.8 minutes. In the finale, which was run more slowly, he finished fifth two days later. FinlandFinland
