The men's 1500 meter run at the 2002 European Athletics Championships was held on August 6th and 8th, 2002 in the Munich Olympic Stadium.

The French Mehdi Baala became European champion . The Spanish defending champion and World Cup third in 1999 Reyes Estévez won the silver medal. Bronze went to the Portuguese vice European champion from 1998 Rui Silva .
