The men's pole vault at the 2002 European Athletics Championships was held on August 8 and 10, 2002 in the Munich Olympic Stadium.

In this competition, the German pole vaulters won two medals, silver and bronze. The European champion was the Israeli World Cup third in 1999 and vice world champion in 2001 Alexander Awerbuch . Lars Börgeling took second place . The 1998 vice European champion Tim Lobinger came third.

qualification

August 8, 2002

23 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 5.65 m. No jumper had to approach this height, as the twelve finalists had already emerged beforehand. The twelve athletes reached the final, who had skipped 5.60 m or 5.45 m with not too many unsuccessful attempts (highlighted in light green).
