Lars Börgeling (born April 16, 1979 in Neuss ) is a former German pole vaulter .
In 1997 he won the European Junior Championship in Ljubljana , the following year he finished second at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Annecy , and in July 2001 he was U23 European Champion in Amsterdam .
In his most successful year to date, 2002, he became German champion , set his personal best on July 27th with 5.85 m and won the silver medal at the European Championships in Munich .
In 2004 he finished 6th at the Athens Olympics , which was a disappointment for him as he had hoped for more. At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , he was eliminated from qualifying for the final without a valid attempt. In 2006 he became German champion again in Ulm , but failed at the European Championships in Gothenburg at the starting height.
Lars Börgeling was 1.92 m tall and weighed 83 kg when he was playing. He started for TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and studies sport and event management at the Business and Information Technology School Iserlohn.
In 2004 he took first place at the TV total high diving in synchronized diving with Danny Ecker . In November 2005, Lars Börgeling competed against celebrities such as Stefan Raab , Annabelle Mandeng , Bürger Lars Dietrich , Ben , Alexander Kaffl and Oli.P in the individual jump at TV total high diving . With Ecker as a partner, he won synchronized jumping. In 2007 they took part again and came in second.
He ended his career in 2010.
