Annabelle Mandeng (born April 2, 1971 in Göttingen , Lower Saxony ) is a German actress , presenter and voice actress .

life and career

Annabelle Mandeng was born as the daughter of a German college student and a Cameroonian studying in Karlsruhe . In 1973 the parents separated and Mandeng and her older brother grew up with their mother in Bad Zwischenahn . In 1980, she started working for the German Development Service in Togo and moved with the children to the West African country. Three years later the family moved to Pakistan , where Mandeng graduated from high school in Lahore and then graduated from high school in Germany. As a result of her stays abroad, Annabelle Mandeng speaks her mother tongue German fluently and without an accent in English and French.

As a schoolgirl, she appeared in 1990 on the Sat.1 program Fort Boyard - A game for adventurers as a candidate.

Mandeng began her TV career at Hamburg1 as a presenter a. a. the live game show Zoom City and in 1995 switched to RTL as a weather fairy for all regional programs . Since 1999 she has moderated Fit for Fun TV at VOX . In autumn 2000 she started the chat "We four" on ZDF with Susanne Fröhlich and Sibylle Nicolai . By 2010, they presented the 3sat - Magazine vivo . From 2016 to 2019 Mandeng moderated the competition films of the Berlinale, the awarding of the Honorary Golden Bear, the Berlinale Camera and the European Shooting Stars. As an actress, she played the main female role in the theater as well as Otto Sander and Robert Stadlober in the movie Donau, Dunaj, Dana and in Tatort Dschungelbrüder , and the continuous role “Heidi” in the Sat.1 series Bis in die Spitzen .

In 2016 she played the role of "Kassandra" in Wanja and Sonja and Mascha and Spike by Christopher Durang and the role of "Bassa Selim" in the staging of the Abduction from the Seraglio by Rodrigo Garcia at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin in 2017 and 2020 was resumed.

2020 Mandeng is in the role of "Eva" in Burhan Qurbanis feature film Berlin Alexanderplatz next to u. a. Joachim Król , Jella Haase and Albrecht Schuch , which celebrated its world premiere in the Berlinale competition on February 26, 2020.
