The women's long jump at the 2002 European Athletics Championships was held on August 6th and 7th, 2002 in the Munich Olympic Stadium.

The Russian Olympic third in 2000 and Vice World Champion in 2001 Tatjana Kotowa became European champion . She won ahead of the British Jade Johnson . Bronze went to the Hungarian Tünde Vaszi .

qualification

August 6, 2002

24 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 6.60 m. One athlete exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the eleven next-placed athletes to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). So finally 6.31 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
