The women's long jump at the European Athletics Championships in 1994 was held on August 11 and 12, 1994 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .

European champion European champion of was 1986 / 1990 , Olympic champion in 1992 and world champion of 1983 / 1993 Heike Drechsler . It started until 1991 for the GDR and from 1992 for Germany. Second place went to Inessa Krawez from the Ukraine, who ran second in the 1992 Olympics , and who had been third in the newly introduced triple jump four days earlier . Bronze went to the Italian Fiona May .

qualification

25 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 6.65 m. Four athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the eight athletes placed next to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). So finally 6.41 m had to be achieved for the final.
