The men's 400-meter race at the 1994 European Athletics Championships was held from August 8 to 11, 1994 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .

In this competition there was a double victory for the British runners. European champion was Du'aine Ladejo . He won ahead of the winner of the last two European championships, Roger Black . Bronze went to Mathias Rusterholz from Switzerland .
