The women's marathon at the 1994 European Athletics Championships took place on August 7, 1994 in Helsinki , Finland .

The Portuguese Maria Manuela Machado won the race in 2:29:54 h. Vice European champion was the Italian Maria Curatolo ahead of the Romanian Adriana Barbu.

For the first time, there was a team classification at the European Championships, the so-called Marathon Cup. For this, the times of the three best runners per nation were added up. However, the evaluation was not part of the official medal table. The team from Italy won ahead of Romania and Finland.
