Maria Curatolo

Maria Curatolo (born October 12, 1963 in Turin ) is a former Italian long-distance runner .

In 1984 she won the Cesano Boscone Marathon and 1985 Roma - Ostia . At the European Athletics Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart, she was tenth over 10,000 m . The following year she came in 22nd place in the IAAF World Cup marathon , won the Susavigliana (today's Turin Marathon ) and came second in the Venice Marathon .

In 1988 she was eighth in the marathon of the Olympic Games in Seoul and won the Bozen New Year's Eve run .

After a serious accident, she had to take a break for over two years. In 1993 she was second in the Turin Marathon, and in 1994 she was second in the Stramilano and won silver in the European marathon in Helsinki .

In 1995 he won the Giro di Castelbuono and came fifth in the Berlin Marathon . In the marathon of the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 , she did not reach the goal.

She was national champion four times over 10,000 m (1985, 1987-1989), three times in the half marathon (1986, 1988, 1995) and twice in cross country (1987, 1988).
