The women's javelin at the European Athletics Championships in 1994 was held on August 10 and 11, 1994 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .

The reigning world champion Trine Hattestad from Norway became the European champion . The German European Championship runner-up from 1990 , Olympic third from 1992 and Vice World Champion from 1993 Karen Forkel won the silver medal. The Romanian Felicia Țilea came in third place .

qualification

August 11, 1994

22 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 61.00 m. Three athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the nine next placed athletes to twelve throwers (highlighted in light green). So finally 55.66 m had to be achieved to take part in the finals.
