The women's 400-meter hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in 1994 was held from August 9 to 12, 1994 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .

The British Olympic champion in 1992 , vice world champion in 1991 , world champion in 1993 and world record holder Sally Gunnell became European champion . The German Silvia Rieger won the silver medal. Third place went to Russian Anna Knoros .
