The 3,000-meter run for women at the European Athletics Championships in 1994 was held on August 7 and 10, 1994 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .

European champion was the Irish Olympic runner-up over 1500 meters in 1992 and European record holder Sonia O'Sullivan . The British defending champion Yvonne Murray came in second. Bronze went to the Romanian Gabriela Szabo .
