Gunhild Haugen

Gunhild Haugen (born June 1, 1972 in Sandefjord as Gunhild Halle ) is a former Norwegian middle and long distance runner .

She was twice national champion over 1500 m (1996, 2000), six times over 5000 m (1996, 1997, 1999-2002), twice over 10,000 m (1999, 2000) and twice in cross country (1994, 1996).

At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , she came in 14th place over 5000 m. In 1999 she won the Grand Prix of Prague over 5 km.

In 2000 she came in 40th place at the World Cross Country Championships . At the 10,000 meter run at the Olympic Games in Sydney , she did not reach the goal.

The following year she was eliminated from the World Championships in Edmonton over 5000 m in the run and ran over 10,000 m in 18th place.

In the last year of her competitive sports career, she finished 26th at the World Half Marathon Championships in Brussels and was eighth in the 5000 m and 10,000 m at the European Athletics Championships in Munich .

Gunhild Haugen was 1.66 meters tall and weighed 48 kg at competition times. She was trained by her father Per Halle , a participant in the 1972 Olympic Games, and competed for the IL Runar.
