Päivi Tikkanen

Päivi Tikkanen (born January 19, 1960 in Savitaipale ) is a former Finnish long-distance runner .

At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 , she was fourth in the 3000-meter run in 8: 41.30 minutes, which is still the Finnish record for this distance today. National records were also her best times over 5000m (15: 15.76 min, August 27, 1989, Lohja ), 10,000 m (31: 45.02 min, June 30, 1992, Helsinki ) and half marathon (1:10:35 h , September 3, 1994, Stockholm ) as well as her winning time at the Berlin Marathon 1989 (2:28:45 h). In 1993 she won the Berlin half marathon .
