Vivian Jeanette Kaplan
Vivian Jeanette Kaplan (* 1946 in Shanghai ) is an author.
Kaplan has lived in Toronto , Canada , since 1949 . Her parents came from Vienna , from where they fled to Shanghai in 1939. Vivian J. Kaplan graduated in English, French and Spanish Philology and runs an import / export company for oriental interiors.
Her first book, Von Wien nach Shanghai ( Ten Green Bottles: Vienna to Shanghai, Journey of Fear and Hope ), is about the life of her mother "Nini" Karpel. Starting with her youth in Vienna, the author describes the flight to Shanghai and the following years until she emigrated to Canada. Ten green bottles. Vienna to Shanghai, Journey of Fear and Hope received the Canadian Jewish Book Award.
