The javelin throw of women in the 2014 European Athletics Championships was on 12 and 14 August 2014 in the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich held.
European champion was the Czech double Olympic champion ( 2008 / 2012 ), double world champion ( 2007 / 2011 ), Vice World Champion 2009 , European Vice Champion in 2006 and European Championship -Third of 2010 Barbora Špotáková . She was also the holder of the world record. The Serbian Tatjana Jelača won silver . Bronze went to the German Olympic third from 2012 , European champion from 2010 and EC third from 2012 Linda Stahl .

qualification
22 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 57.50 m. Exactly twelve athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field didn't have to be filled any further, these twelve athletes contested the final two days later.
